UNITYANSWER – NECO CHANGES RESULT CHECKING TOKEN POLICY FROM 5 CHECKS TO 1

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has reportedly changed its result-checking token policy, reducing the number of times a single result-checking token can be used from five (5) checks to just one (1) check.

The reported change is expected to affect candidates, parents, schools, cybercafé operators and other individuals who assist students with checking and printing their NECO results.

Under the previous arrangement, a NECO result-checking token could be used multiple times to access a candidate’s result. However, the new development means that candidates may need to obtain a new token whenever they need to check the same result again after the first use.

The change could increase the cost of accessing NECO results, particularly for candidates who need to check their results more than once or require repeated access for admission and documentation purposes.

Candidates checking their NECO results are advised to carefully confirm their examination details and ensure that they save or print their result after a successful check.

The official NECO result portal currently requires candidates to select their examination year and examination type, then enter their token and registration number before checking their results. (NECO Results)

What This Means

If the reported one-check policy is confirmed and implemented, candidates should:

  1. Avoid unnecessary repeated checks.
  2. Carefully enter their examination details before submitting.
  3. Download and print their results after successfully checking them.
  4. Keep a digital copy of their result for future use.
  5. Confirm any additional token purchase requirements through the official NECO platform.
